A few things...
We finally celebrated my son's December birthday this weekend. Let me clarify-
We celebrated with family in December- but waited until now to celebrate with friends. Being six means he loves both hotels and swimming; so a slumber party at the local Holiday Inn was in order.

Watched Borat with hub last night. Was totally disgusted by the wrestling scene and felt he went to far with the dinner party toileting incident but the rest was funny. The thing that disturbed me the most was as a Christian, I was appalled that the church-goers stepped over him on their way into the church without stopping to ask if he needed help. My husband was upset they showed all the speaking in tongues stuff and were making fun of it but I have been at churches where it happened and was real and I've been at churches where the pastor said to just start making noises and it would come. Ummmm...no. Doesn't seem to me like that's the way. So I was much more offended by the un-Christian behavior of most of the congregants than the showing of the evangelicals.
And lastly- and most importantly- watch this video and share it with others.

that video is so amazing !!!
I watched that film last week. We have a bit of penchant in this household for loving things that knock people out of their comfort zone, and that was definitely one of them. He did a pretty good job of offending a lot of people, I expect. I liked the toileting incident, I thought it was a great way of showing up how much we take for granted. In my travels I have met a few people who have never seen a western toilet, so it's not so farfetched for me. All I could think at the time was that he could have taken it much further, I think we got off easily with that one. lol.
You're right about the... ahem... "wrestling". lol. That was disgusting to me as well. I'm laughing all over again just thinking about it. Ewwwwww.
What I loved about that movie was that the person who could really accept him for who he was and what he knew (or didn't know) was herself an outcast.
