I got a new Nikon d40 as a Mothers' Day/ Anniversary gift and I am thrilled!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Here are a few favorites from the past two days.
So there will be a lot more pictures shared here and on my flickr.
To aid in the wanderlust, make some sangria tea. Here's a recipe:
- steep 5 teabags in boiling water (I used white nectarine organic) and let cool
- slice 1 orange and two lemons
- mix one 32 oz. bottle of Schweppes Club Soda and 1 bottle of Alice White Lexia white wine
- stir in fruit
- melt one half cup of sugar in boiling water and add to liquid; mix
- chill and serve
Enjoy.
The girl in this video takes a long solo journey around the world. I'm drawn to the imagery...and I enjoy me some Death Cab. The video is super-long but enjoyable. Lots of instrumental before the words kick in.
Ack!
I never felt anything but joy for all her other birthdays, but this one is different. It seems more important. Somehow more weight to it.
She's been acting like a teen for the last year or so and so it's not that. I guess it's the heaviness of the actual age. 13
Thirteen is a supposed omen of bad luck but I am happy to say that my relationship with Lydia seems on the healthy side of normal. She has a "boyfriend" but was thrilled when he held her hand the other day while they went for icecream. I can live with that. We've talked about her first kiss which she thinks will come soon and I'm confident she will tell me when it happens.
Sure she's moody and sometimes pisses me off royally, but she's a good kid and I love her. I'm proud to call her mine.
Happy Birthday Lydia!
Found this artist Andrew Huang through my beloved Neil's journal. His Dollface movie is particularly haunting. While wandering through his offerings, I came upon the video for a band called Minipop which is new to me. Check out the video. The song is good and the art is too.
This looks asrounding! I can't wait to see it.
While trying to watch our cash flow, I like to cull magazines at BnN for interesting websites. Here are a few I found recently:
Rotofugi Minis I love miniature toys. I don't have any favorites that I collect...I just collect what I like. I'd love one of these.
I also checked out some new artists. Take a look at Kelly Tunstall, Angelina Wrona, Amy Sol, and Kathie Olivas.
I've loved the art of Tara McPherson for a long time and I loved the concert posters found at MarshHouseArt.
Check them out. Who are your favorite outsider artists?
